From "My Haunted Hotel" to "My Haunted Project": The Evolution of a Paranormal Experience

What began as a modest endeavour called "My Haunted Hotel" has evolved into something far more expansive and extraordinary—"My Haunted Project." This transformation was driven by a deep fascination with the unknown and a desire to create a space where others could explore and document the paranormal. As the project grew, so did the team behind it, bringing together a diverse group of passionate individuals who have helped shape "My Haunted Project" into what it is today.

The name "My Haunted Project" was carefully chosen to reflect the personal nature of the experience. The word "My" is possessive, signifying that the project belongs to whoever is experiencing it. When you say "My Haunted Project," it becomes yours—a personal journey into the unknown, shaped by your own encounters and discoveries. Each guest adds their own chapter to the story, making every visit unique and deeply personal.

As "My Haunted Project" continues to expand, so does its impact on those who participate. What started as a single haunted hotel has become a network of haunted locations, each offering a different window into the paranormal. Yet, despite this growth, the core mission remains the same: to document and explore the paranormal in a way that is both authentic and accessible.

Whether you're a sceptic or a believer, "My Haunted Project" invites you to take part in a genuine investigation into the unknown. It’s a place where ghost stories aren't just told—they’re experienced, captured on camera, and shared. And the best part? It’s your haunted project, a journey into the unknown that you can truly call your own.

The journey started with Harry, the owner of an exceptional 17th-century building that seemed to be alive with the past. Paranormal activity was a regular occurrence in this historic property—strange noises, moving objects, and ghostly apparitions were almost commonplace. Harry’s curiosity turned into a mission: to document these phenomena and share the experience with others who were equally intrigued by the unknown.

Thus, "My Haunted Hotel" was born, inviting guests to stay overnight in a genuinely haunted location. The concept was simple but powerful—provide people with the opportunity to experience real hauntings, complete with the tools to document what they encountered. As word spread and more guests flocked to the hotel, it became clear that one location couldn't contain the growing demand for authentic paranormal investigations.

The team began acquiring new haunted locations, each with its own unique history and ghostly activity. This expansion led to the rebranding of "My Haunted Hotel" into "My Haunted Project," reflecting the broader scope of the venture. No longer confined to a single building, "My Haunted Project" became a platform for exploring multiple haunted sites, each offering its own mysteries to uncover. My Haunted Hotel in Chester (Ye Olde Kings Head), My Haunted Mansion in Liverpool (Woolton Hall) and My Haunted Manor USA in Columbia Pennsylvania (The Samuel Miller Mansion) currently make up the project.

Harry brought together a team of dedicated paranormal investigators, each bringing their own expertise and passion to the project.

  • Brett Jones  As well as being part of the show as a co host of “My Haunted Project” Brett’s main objective with the project is to use his past experience in running events in multiple industries, to make a unique experience for each guest on their paranormal journey. Danny has been involved in some huge cases during the last decade including a week long investigation into the famous Pendle Hill hauntings. Danny is also a self taught filmmaker which has allowed him to input his own production ideas into the project & with his knowledge of both the paranormal industry on & off screen, Danny believes in bringing a unique style of show to the paranormal world.

  • Dan Callaghan AKA “Caravani/Caravan”  In addition to being a Paranormal Investigator Caravani’s main aim is to look at the technical elements of an investigation such monitoring environmental factors, looking for triggers or patterns, and also trying to validate/debunk moments of interest. Paranormal tech is a strong forte with a lot of time spent conducting various levels of research via different items of equipment.

  • Stephen Gibbs AKA “Gibbsy”. Once a sceptic, Gibbsy had little interest in the paranormal before visiting My Haunted Hotel, his perspective truly shifted during his first visit. Now, he seeks to uncover answers and help others consider the possibility of the paranormal. Involved in the project's growth, Gibbsy enjoys managing its operations and thrives on the team’s banter, learning from the wealth of experience around him. His engineering background shapes his scientific approach, focusing on debunking evidence before labelling it paranormal. Passionate about My Haunted Project, Gibbsy believes it’s a unique venture in the field and is excited for its future.

  • Sarah Gibbs AKA “Saz” Saz's passion for the paranormal began at an early age and intensified after her first visit to My Haunted Hotel in February 2023. Due to the paranormal experiences she had there, she considers it the most haunted location she’s ever investigated. Saz went from a regular paying guest to becoming the only female member of the team. She thrives on the adrenaline of a good scare and has investigated over 30 different locations. Fully committed to My Haunted Project, she adds lots of fun and a personal touch in her interactions with guests both on-site and on social media, while also contributing to the project's development behind the scenes.

  • Trey Bader is a paranormal investigator at My Haunted Manor USA. Trey’s goal is to bring an analytical, science based, approach to try to find patterns or trends with the activity there. Also to continue to dig up the buried history there, which includes what may be lying in the basement floor. Apart from the paranormal side of things, Trey manages many different aspects of the Manor. Trey handles guest relations and bookings. Trey works hand-in-hand with Brett and the UK team on the website. Trey also helps his brother, Jeff, with the production side of things with filming on site and editing the episodes. Collaboration and unity are two important values for Trey. Meeting people from all over the world and seeing the unique experiments they bring to these investigations is what makes The My Haunted Project so special.

Jeff thinks of himself as an open-minded sceptic with a debunk-first philosophy. Jeff states “it’s amazing I get to work on this with my brother, Trey, and he’s been a huge help with editing the massive amounts of footage each week”. Jeff’s goal with this project is to find answers to further our paranormal research on a world-wide spectrum and possibly catch irrefutable video evidence of the afterlife. Jeff is so excited to see where this project takes us next.

  • Daryl Marston is the lead investigator at My Haunted Manor USA. Daryl see’s his role in the My Haunted Project as a mentor for the project especially in the United States. Daryl has been involved in the paranormal for 20 years now and has had the opportunity to travel the world investigating on and off television. Daryl can honestly say this project holds a special place in his heart. “This is something we all created from a grassroots project starting in the UK to opening the first location here in the states early this year with more locations to come soon”. Daryl feels we are trailblazers of the paranormal setting expectations and new ways of investigating and setting the bar.

Together, this diverse team has helped "My Haunted Project" grow into a unique and immersive experience that goes beyond the usual haunted attractions. What sets "My Haunted Project" apart is its commitment to authenticity. Every guest experience is backed by camera footage and other evidence, which can be reviewed and analysed. This evidence-based approach ensures that the paranormal activity encountered is real, not just a product of overactive imaginations or theatrical effects.

"My Haunted Project" offers something truly special: the opportunity for guests to investigate in their own way. Whether you're an experienced ghost hunter or someone just dipping their toes into the world of the paranormal, you have the freedom to explore these haunted locations on your own terms.
